04/20/2007         Wiota…..Not Only A Baseball Team (joke)

MONROE, WI -- Wiota co-manager Dick Schliem is not only manager of the three-time home talent champions, but also co-owns a private investigation business with Steve Tuescher, the other half to the Wiota duo.  Some of there previous work includes the investigation of any team that threatens to beat Wiota in HTL Western Section play.  Teams such as Orfordville, Livingston, and Monroe have felt the wrath of the private investigation business.

When interviewed about his business Dick was quoted, “The reason I run my business, is to divert attention from Wiota’s baseball team so we can pick up illegal players, and place attention on teams we feel are cheating. Monroe is made up of 4 ex-Wiota players (probably the greatest players that I have ever had), and I want them to fail.”  When asked why those players left, Dick replied, “They left because I have no clue about modern baseball and I used them for their talent. If a player does not play for Wiota, then I hate them, because I have nothing better to do with all my time.”

Their latest investigation included stopping by and interviewing the parents of a Monroe player’s landlord.  This occurred after the April 14th section meeting.

According to Steve Tuescher and Dick Schliem, a player can never move to Wisconsin from any other state.  That is how they got the name for their business “Once a Flatlander, Always a Flatlander.”
