01/18/2007     Monroe Brewers Winters Talks a Success

MONROE, WI -- The Monroe Home Talent Baseball Team has recently gained a commitment from infielder Jeff Newcomer to re-join the team for the 2007 season.  Co-Manager Rooney Janecke comments, “Jeff could solidify the infield and be a force in our line-up.”

Jeff Newcomer was a starter on the National Championship UW-Whitewater baseball team and has had previous years of success playing for the Monroe Home Talent Baseball Team.

Also, other acquisitions include free agent Joel Wild (utility player) and free agent Mike Cleary (infielder) from Pine Bluff.  These recently added players will fill the void of four non-returning players: Eric Hardel, Jason DiGise, Kal Engelkens, and Dennis Janecke (inactive for 2007 season only).
