01/20/2007         Players React Harsh to Pre-Season Deals (joke)

MONROE, WI -- Mixed emotions filled the air by Monroe Home Talent players with the announcement of agreements with recently signed players.  An internal source from the team revealed that many emails passed through the web with regard to the recent transactions.  The internal source also confirmed that Tom Smargiassi, long-time Home Talent League veteran and President of the Players Association, felt the bargaining tactics to close the deal with the new players were unjust and showed favoritism to “mediocre“ inactive players (previously on the DL) returning to the team.  Reports conclude that existing contract players are organizing a lock-out from March weekend spring training sessions until re-negotiated agreements are finalized with existing contract players.

Additionally, Tom Smargiassi very adamantly refused comment when contacted by local media.  Tom’s agent was also unavailable for comment.
